WHITE MOUNTAINS COMMUNITY COLLEGE
DEPT/PROGRAM ASSISTANT III - LITTLETON ACADEMIC CENTER ASSISTANT
FULL-TIME, $21.67-$23.21/hr

SCOPE OF WORK: Provides clerical and customer service support to prospective and current students regarding admissions, registration, financial aid and student accounts/payment policies and processing. This position reports to the Vice President of Student Affairs at White Mountains Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Provides a welcoming environment for all students and guests of the Littleton Academic Center. Assists prospective and current students with admissions, registration, financial aid, and billing policies and processes, and makes referrals for advising, counseling, and other college services, as needed.
• Instructs students on the proper usage of Web tools including but not limited to SIS, email, online payment plans, online web admissions applications, FAFSA and Canvas.
• Provides clerical and technical support, including filing, scheduling appointments, data entry, cashiering, and tracking student documents as related to admissions, registration, financial aid, and billing, utilizing SCT-Banner school-based software and other MS software products. Processes change of name/address requests.
• Assists with the coordination and monitoring of the academic center facilities use schedule.
• Assists with the planning of and participates in college events, such as open houses and other recruitment events.
• Works with Food Services staff to organize food and beverage supplies on site (Meals IncludED program). Assists with the WMCC Cabinet.
• Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
• Utilizes C-Cure software to create new student and employee IDs.
• Assists with projects as needed.
• Maintains knowledge/function of other administrative offices and college departments.
• Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma, G.E.D. or its equivalent. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Five years of experience in a professional secretarial or office support position, with experience in customer service and data processing. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

License/Certification: None required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive experience in the use of databases and PC-based software, including MS Office Suite and Banner, preferred. Experience working in higher education, particularly in student financial aid, preferred.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS : Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Knowledge of English, spelling, and arithmetic. Ability to exercise discretion and utilize sound judgment in appraising situations and making routine decisions. Ability to follow specific instructions in gathering facts, data, or resources in organizing required information. Knowledge of office record keeping and reporting. Knowledge of the regulations pertaining to departmental programs. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate and analyze facts and identify existing or potential problems. Ability to contribute to the development of sound operational procedures. Ability to make decisions based upon fact-finding interviews within the parameters of the rules and policies of the college. Ability to meet with others and explain programs sponsored by the department or college in which the position is located. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
