Overview The Golf Starter/Ranger is responsible for set up and/or closing of the course, starting golfers from the first tee, keeping golfers informed of rules and regulations, and keeping pace of play on the course up to standard. Experience Required Playing golf for at least 5 years Able and willing to work weekends and holidays Must have a valid driver's license Must have reliable transportation Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds Ability to drive a golf cart Ability to work unsupervised Excellent communication and customer service skills Must be able to relate to other people in a professional manner Ability to understand the rules of golf Ability to work inside and outside in different weather conditions Essential Responsibilities Keep order, ensure prompt tee off, and maintain the flow of golfers as they prepare to play the course Pick up litter around the first tee, putting green, and pro shop Check all ball washers and fill with water/solution if needed Rove the course throughout the shift and be available to golfers Know all course rules and enforce them Record and report all complaints to the Head Golf Professional Inform golfers who damage private property that they are liable for restitution Ensure play moves along steadily and manage pace of play Periodically check water coolers and fill if needed Empty garbage cans when needed Pick up litter on the course Complete accident/incident reports for all accidents on course Provide excellent customer service with a positive and professional attitude at all times Work as a team player with co‑workers and in conjunction with other departments #J-18808-Ljbffr
