HVAC Mechanic - Facilities & Engineering - Days

Overview Hourly Pay Range: $28.47 - $42.71. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights Position: HVAC Technician Location: Edward Hospital - Naperville, IL Employment: Full Time Hours: 40 weekly hours, M-F 7:00am-3:30pm Required Travel: As needed between campus locations What You Will Do Repairs and conducts preventative maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment within the facility. Selects appropriate tools, materials, and supplies; shuts down electrical circuits and water flow as appropriate. Repairs and maintains non-clinical electronic components such as fire alarm systems, building utilities systems, water, steam, electrical, med gas, natural gas, and compressed air systems. Notifies appropriate personnel of difficult or complex problems or situations. Notifies affected departments/staff when it becomes necessary to interrupt service to initiate emergency repair of equipment or facilities. Operates and maintains high pressure boilers, A/C chillers, cooling towers and related plant equipment. Performs basic chemistry tests at the start of assigned shift as appropriate. Ensures all work is accomplished professionally. Performs routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment according to manufacturers\' specifications. Performs major repairs on fan motors, HVAC equipment, plumbing equipment and plant equipment, piping and electrical systems. Monitors critical alarms via pager and facility management system as assigned. Responds to alarms, investigates the source, repairs, and communicates with Facilities leadership. Records information into daily operating log and maintains stock levels by requesting materials and supplies as needed. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Completes and submits work request forms, activity reports, and other forms to maintain department records. Identifies major problems, initiates corrective action, and reports to appropriate management personnel. Enters all critical alarms into the building log at the time of receipt and logs other important situations as they occur. Makes log entries with date, time, and signature for management review and sign-off. Responds to code calls as appropriate. Offsite Engineers operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair Roof Top Units, Air Handler Units, boilers, chillers and related HVAC systems. What You Will Need Education: High School Required Certification: Stationary Engineer License - Chicago or Elgin - within 6 months of start date. A valid driver’s license is required if offsite duties are performed. If using personal vehicle, maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law.
