Research Director

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a senior scientific leader responsible for advancing our client's technical capabilities, mentoring Study Directors, and driving both commercial and scientific growth. Recognized as a scientific authority internally and externally, with active contributions to the broader regulatory and scientific community.

ROLE INFORMATION

Department : Fate and Metabolism

Reports To : Director or VP, NA Operations

Location: Wareham, MA (On-Site)

Compensation : $110,000 to $150,000 | Senior Scientific Leadership | Career Band 8

Education : Bachelor's degree required; MS or PhD strongly preferred

Experience : 6-10+ years; established scientific reputation preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop proposals and protocols to address new testing opportunities and emerging regulatory requirements

• Manage projects to meet both customer needs and financial objectives

• Provide technical mentoring and support to Study Directors in day-to-day responsibilities and professional development

• Maintain and advance recognized scientific expertise through publications, presentations, and new technology development

• Contribute technical authority in study design, data interpretation, and regulatory submission support

• Provide technical assistance and subject matter expertise to the Business Development team

• Lead development of novel testing methods and support application for new guideline acceptance

• Represent company in industry working groups, regulatory agency interactions, and scientific conferences

GLP ACCOUNTABILITY


May be designated as Study Director or Principal Investigator on novel, technically complex, or high-profile studies (per SOP 02.007.12). Serves as a senior GLP resource and advisor to Testing Facility Management on areas of scientific and regulatory risk. Ensures that new testing methods and designs meet GLP framework requirements prior to implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Established expertise and external recognition in area of specialty

• Proven record in proposal development, study design, and scientific publishing

• Strong mentoring and staff development skills

• Effective liaison capability with regulatory agencies and sponsors

• Commercial awareness and ability to translate scientific capability into business opportunity
