District Support Pharmacist Part Time

Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy by acting as a role model and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. DSP Responsibilities As a DSP, you will work within the district to cover pharmacist scheduling gaps and support the management, oversight, and operation of the pharmacy and pharmacy team. Your day‑to‑day tasks include: Living our purpose by managing patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts. Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation. Assuming the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the sole or primary pharmacist on duty. Enhancing patient experiences by showing empathy and coaching the pharmacy team: demonstrating compassionate care, collaborating with the patient’s health team, and resolving insurance or medication issues. Offering and delivering immunizations and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize. Managing pharmacy inventory, including protection of cold‑chain products and all inventory best practices. Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills through required training and continuing education. Providing pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible, empowering the pharmacy team to deliver holistic care at every step of the patient care journey. Understanding and complying with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, and safeguarding patient privacy and safety. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Essential Functions Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and Focus Ability to concentrate on tasks over periods of time. Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs. Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner. Notice and understand patients’ reactions, responding appropriately. Communication Skills Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues. Practice active listening: give full attention, ask questions, and avoid inappropriate interruptions. Mathematical Reasoning Apply math to solve problems such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense, total supplies, or bottle calculations. Problem Resolution Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and select the best course of action among multiple options. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time. Lift, scan, and bag items; occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. Reach overhead; stretch or reach out to grasp items. Move fingers repetitively with precise control of machines. Stoop to a considerable degree and use lower body and back muscles to move items. Maintain close visual acuity for activities such as transcription or inspecting small parts. Communicate verbally with detailed instructions and receive oral information accurately. Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
