About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience required License: Valid RN license or Compact RN license required Certifications: AHA certifications required Must-Have: Flu vaccination required with no exemptions Travel experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Patient ratio experience of 6 Description: Flu vaccination is required, and no exemptions will be accepted. Candidates should live within a 65-mile radius. Travel experience is preferred. Every other weekend is required. Floating may occur on a PRN basis. Block scheduling may be arranged. Staff may be placed on call once every pay period, which is 2 weeks. The unit's patient ratios during days, nights, and weekends are 6. Interdisciplinary support is available including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses include post-operative conditions and various medical issues. Special procedures performed in the unit include bedside thoracentesis and debridement. All required skills in managing ports, blood product administration, and wound care are essential. Candidates are expected to manage various medical devices and therapies, including BiPAP/CPAP and feeding tubes. A proven ability to start and maintain IVs is important. This role may require collaboration with rapid response and code teams. Experience with the specified charting system is preferred.
