Cytopathology Technician
Job Summary Duties and Responsibilities
Accessions and describes all specimens for cytopathologic diagnosis, maintaining specimen integrity/identification throughout processing.
Prepares cellular material by centrifugation technique or manual processing.
Stains materials appropriately, using cytochemical procedures.
Coverslips and labels all slides.
Performs data gathering and statistical analyses.
Files, retrieves and refiles cytology slides and reports.
Maintains records and documentation of quality control results.
Maintains equipment in working order and troubleshoots equipment problems.
Apprises supervisor of problems that are beyond the scope of own knowledge and expertise.
Schedule Notes: 1 Day shift (7:30a-3:45p every other weekend) or 1 evening shift (3:30p 11:45p every other weekend)
