Mental Health Technician (MHT)

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a compassionate and dependable Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join a behavioral health team in Fuquay-Varina, NC. This role involves working with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing behavioral health crises while providing support, observation, and direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient safety and overall well-being
• Observe and document patient behaviors and interactions
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing and clinical staff
• Assist patients with daily activities and therapeutic programming
• Support individuals with psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Must be at least 18 years old. Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience preferred. Associate degree in Behavioral Studies or a related field preferred, but not required. Current CPR certification if applicable. Must meet all facility, state, and federal requirements.

Schedule & Orientation

• 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Weekday and weekend shifts available
• 36 hours per week
• Orientation typically includes 2-3 days of shadowing and training
• First-day arrival is typically 8:00 AM for orientation
• Professional attire or scrubs permitted
• No cell phones allowed on patient units
