PIT Operator

A PIT Order Picker is responsible for operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) to efficiently and accurately fulfill customer orders by picking, moving, and loading products in a warehouse or distribution center. This role requires a combination of physical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities Safely and effectively operating various PIT equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other specialized vehicles. Locating and retrieving products based on order tickets or computer prompts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Loading and unloading products onto delivery vehicles or into storage areas, adhering to safety regulations and best practices. Maintaining accurate inventory records, using scanning equipment and updating systems as needed. Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and reporting any issues or hazards. Assisting with other warehouse tasks such as receiving shipments, stocking shelves, or performing general cleanup. Skills and Requirements Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand, walk, and lift moderately heavy items for extended periods. Attention to Detail: Accuracy in picking, packing, and loading orders is crucial. Safety Awareness: Understanding and adhering to all safety regulations and procedures. Operating PIT Equipment: Experience with operating various types of PIT equipment is desirable. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other warehouse staff.
