Registered Nurse / Respiratory Therapist - ECMO

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30), covering weekends every other week based on need.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist specializing in ECMO will work collaboratively in the CVICU and PICU units, managing patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. This position requires both pediatric and adult experience, particularly in critical care scenarios following cardiac surgery, trauma, or acute respiratory failure.

Responsibilities:

• Manage ECMO devices during bedside ECMO cannulation and cannula repositioning procedures.
• Provide care for critically ill patients in both pediatric and adult intensive care settings.
• Collaborate with ICU RN and RT to follow ECMO order sets and provider directions.
• Utilize specialized equipment, including Cardiohelp and Centrimag ECMO consoles.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 3 years of critical care experience, with significant pediatric and adult care.
• ECMO Specialist experience required with familiarity in managing ECMO technology.
• Current licenses/certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, SC RRT license.
• 1-year minimum experience with EPIC EMR is required.
