They are seeking a Maintenance and Reliability Engineer for plant operations. Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting rotating equipment malfunctions and failures. Lead investigations into the root causes of rotating equipment failures. Source and select new and replacement rotating equipment that is appropriate for its intended application. Ensure that techniques and materials used to repair and maintain rotating equipment are appropriate for their intended applications. Help develop the maintenance strategy for critical rotating equipment. Develop the scope of work for critical rotating equipment during turnaround. Promote safe working conditions; ensure compliance with all safety related policies, procedures, and rules. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. A degree in mechanical engineering is strongly preferred; however, degrees in other relevant technical disciplines may be considered with experience. Three to five years of experience managing maintenance in a chemical plant, refinery, smelter, mining operation, or similar heavy manufacturing environment are required; some of this experience may have been acquired as a maintenance engineer, maintenance planner, reliability engineer, or similar capacity. Expert level knowledge of common mechanical process equipment design. Advanced understanding of how centrifugal pumps, hydraulic systems, blowers, compressors of various designs function is essential for success in this role. Experience with the operation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas fired boilers is a strong plus. Advanced skills in SAP are required for success in this role, in particular proficiency with the maintenance planning materials management modules.
