DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on preparing meals, serving residents, and keeping food service areas clean and safe. The work supports daily operations and ensures residents receive quality service. As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Food Preparation: Prepare food items, plate meals, and move food products between storage and work areas
• Meal Assembly: Set up serving carts, read diet information, and assemble trays to match dietary needs
• Resident Service: Deliver trays, refill food items, and support the serving line in the dining areas
• Sanitation Tasks: Clean equipment, dining rooms, tables, floors, and dish machines after meals
• Record Keeping: Record inventory use, temperatures, meal counts, and assist with holiday meal setups
• Safety Practices: Follow safety rules, report incidents, and use protective equipment when required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 80 hours biweekly
• Work hours are 2nd shift (11:30 AM to 8:00 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and every other weekend.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Previous food service worker experience

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
