Billing Specialist

Your Role The Billing Specialist is responsible for submitting all invoices on assigned accounts. Responsibilities Accurately enter electronic invoices in a timely manner. Effectively monitor assigned accounts to ensure that all invoices have been submitted. Demonstrate knowledge of customer specific billing requirements and notify internal resources when required documentation is missing. Identify, document and resolve internal issues delaying payment such as pricing, insufficient documentation and non‑receipt of invoices. Work with collection specialist to request and provide information to the customer to facilitate payment (invoice copies, bills of lading, purchase order numbers, well locations, person ordering the product/service, etc.). Display a sense of urgency in submitting invoices. Make regular contributions to team efforts in addition to individual responsibilities. Assist with training of new team members and coaching existing team members as requested by the Credit and Collections Manager and/or Credit Analyst. Oversee annual reviews of EDI account requirements and internal control processes, as well as special projects, as requested by the Credit and Collections Manager and/or Credit Analyst. Perform weekly reviews of billing workloads, including recommended actions such as temporary or permanent account assignments. Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by management. Your Profile Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines within a fast‑paced environment. Exceptional written, verbal and listening communication skills. Creative thinking and ability to produce innovative solutions to problems. Availability to work on call for a 24‑hour period during assigned weeks, for order releases on a rotating schedule. Ability to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time. Proficiency in operating a computer constantly. General knowledge of common office equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook). Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or acceptable equivalent diploma with a minimum of one year of experience in EDI billing or accounting for oil and gas customers.
