Nursing: Registered Nurse (Rn) - Progressive Care Unit (Pcu) - Travel

Travel Stepdown RN – Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Rochelle Park, New Jersey | Assignment: 13‑week travel assignment. Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN. Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification. Responsibilities Provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units, including frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. Assess and manage complex patient needs, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient‑centered care. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately. Administer prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care. Prepare equipment and assist physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations. Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients. Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of patient’s cardiac status and response to interventions. Respond to life‑saving situations according to nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies. Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients. Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Physical Abilities Remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Technical / Motor Skills Grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements Cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as work without assistance from other personnel. Sensory Requirements Possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.
