ADMISSIONS NURSE (RN) – Stonington Institute, North Stonington, CT. Job Summary: The Admissions Nurse (RN) will provide initial client assessment and screening for admission to the Detox Unit. Employment at Stonington Institute is contingent upon the successful candidate’s compliance with the organization’s Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Policy. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assess clients thoroughly for admission. Accurately transcribe and implement physician’s orders. Assess clients withdrawing from substances using facility approved assessment scales. Develop appropriate and effective initial treatment plans for all active problems identified in the admission nursing assessment. Accurately complete medication reconciliations upon admission. Educate clients on medications, health maintenance, substance abuse, and other applicable topics. Perform searches of clients upon admission. Communicate client medical and behavioral changes and any special precautions to appropriate clinical and medical staff for ongoing intervention. Act as liaison between members of the Clinical Team and Medical Departments. Document in client medical record in an accurate and timely manner, according to facility requirements. Qualifications Graduate of accredited school of nursing with a current State of Connecticut R.N. License. Minimum of one year experience working in the Mental Health or Substance Abuse field preferred.
