Allegheny General Hospital's Emergency Department is a 35-bed unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center. As a quaternary care facility, AGH provides care to a highly complex patient population. The department is currently undergoing expansion and renovation with a projected completion date of November 2027, promising a brand new 48 bed ED equipped with cutting-edge technology. In 2024, the ED served over 45,000 patients, averaging approximately 125 patients per day.

Essential Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

Minimum

• 1 year recent Emergency RN experience OR 2 years recent ICU RN experience
• 1st preference to employee on current night schedule on unit
• 2nd preference to employee on current unit
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• CPR American Heart Association
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
