Project Engineer

A Santa Clara-based general contractor specializing in healthcare and higher education construction across California and Arizona is seeking a Project Engineer with 3–5 years of experience. The company has a strong track record of delivering high-quality work and offers a supportive team environment focused on growth and mentorship. The ideal candidate has a background in construction management or engineering and is proficient with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. This role includes office and field responsibilities and offers long-term advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Support project managers and superintendents throughout preconstruction and construction
• Write and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project logs
• Interpret drawings, specs, ASIs, ACDs, NMAs, and ensure as-builts are current
• Attend and document project meetings (OAC, coordination, etc.)
• Help with bidding, monthly billing, closeouts, and project scheduling
• Maintain photo logs, punch lists, and municipal permits
• Communicate clearly with clients, architects, consultants, and trade partners
• Provide support in jobsite visits and material tracking
• Follow filing protocols and document control procedures

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in construction (healthcare or education preferred)
• Bachelor's in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally
• Self-motivated, organized, and open to learning
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

• EIT certification
• Bilingual in Spanish or another language
