Medicare Member Service Representative

Pay:  $18.50/hour
Location: Akron, OH (On-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Type: Temporary (approx. 24 weeks)
Anticipated Start: July 13, 2026
Openings: 5

Position Summary

Provide personalized customer service to health plan members by phone and/or electronically. You’ll help resolve questions and concerns related to enrollment, benefits, eligibility, billing, claims, authorizations, and more—while documenting interactions accurately and maintaining confidentiality.

What You’ll Do

• Assist members with inquiries related to benefits, eligibility, billing, claims, and authorizations
• Document all inquiries/complaints in the tracking system and route items appropriately for resolution
• Meet productivity and quality standards for phone and written communications
• Use empathy, education, and empowerment in every member interaction
• Maintain knowledge of health insurance practices, rules/regulations, and internal systems
• Communicate clearly and professionally (verbal and written)
• Protect confidential member health and business information and follow all policies/procedures
• Use independent judgment and problem-solving to address member needs

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED (college coursework preferred)
• 2+ years of customer service experience (call center and/or administrative support strongly preferred)
• Medicare and/or health insurance experience strongly preferred
• Strong computer skills (Windows), accurate documentation, and ability to learn new systems
• Professional phone presence with a customer-first approach
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively
• Able to sit for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs as needed
