Pharmacy TechnicianScope of Responsibilities: Works under general supervision. Follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. May assist in orienting and training employees.Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, responsible for filling and finalizing orders, including sterile compounding, prior to final verification. Also facilitating the shipment or delivery of medications to patients and providers.Job DutiesPrepare medication orders for final review by a pharmacistResponsible for the proper and accurate filling of each individual order, along with accurate record retention and documentationMaintain the compounding area and equipment, including routine cleaningAssist in maintaining federal, state and local laws, accrediting body standards, and Policies and Procedures (P&Ps)Perform IV admixtures, sterility testing, and quality control in accordance with policy, maintain appropriate documentationPrepare sterile parenteral compounds following appropriate protocol and aseptic technique, obtaining required checks by pharmacistsMaintain and keep reasonable production as determined by supervisorPrepare refrigerated and non-refrigerated shipments for UPS and FedEx dailyAssist in preparation of packaging for shipmentsOrder, receive, and store medications/supplies while ensuring appropriate stocking levels in pharmacyPerform physical inventories according to P&PsMaintain and track DME and other equipment including cleaning and calibration activitiesParticipate in Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance activities, education programs, and department/branch meetingsMaintain a professional and clean appearance in pharmacy alwaysMay assist in orienting and training new employeesResponsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsAttendance Requirements:Must be available, and on-time for scheduled work shifts.Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.Educational Requirements:Minimum: High School Diploma or GEDPreferred: Pharmacy Technician or related certification (some states require a pharmacy technician certificate or license/registration)Current CPR certification if involved with direct patient careExperience:Experience in a customer service related field3-6 months' experience as a pharmacy technician, IV infusion experience/education is preferredJob Skill Requirements:Limited lifting up to 40 poundsBroad knowledge of medications, physician orders, and pharmacy systemsStrong communication skillsOutstanding customer service skillsExcellent organization skillsAbility to multitask and prioritizeExcellent computer and keyboarding skillsBehavioral Traits Required:Cooperation: Must work harmoniously and effectively with fellow employees, supervisors and others you are in contact withInitiative: Must work within supervision guidelines and assume additional responsibilitiesFlexibility: Must be willing to work variable work schedules, nights and weekends, assist others as requested and available, and be willing to perform all assigned workAdaptability: Must respond to new situations in a positive way, accept change, support new ideas, master new routines and grasp explanations, apply current knowledge in new environments and experiencesInvolvement: Must enjoy the demands of the job and work with interest and enthusiasmCustomer Service: Must provide superior customer service (for AristaCare customers, fellow employees and business partners), listen attentively to their needs and respond appropriatelySafety: Must take care of equipment and employ good safety habitsLeadership: Must gain acceptance of ideas and accomplish goals through subordinates, peers and teamsCompensation$21-22.25 per hour.The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience, and education.KPH Healthcare Services, Inc. is a multistate organization and abides by all local, state, and federal regulations as it pertains to minimum wage requirements.
