The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering leads a team responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and supporting new product introductions. This role partners closely with operations, quality, and design engineering to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and with high quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies
• Oversee manufacturing process design, validation, and documentation
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring manufacturability (DFM/DFA)
• Identify and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply chain, and R&D
• Partner with maintenance and production teams to resolve process issues and minimize downtime
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Analyze production data and KPIs to drive data-based decision-making
• Manage capital equipment projects including planning, budgeting, and execution
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production methods.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action activities for manufacturing and quality issues.
• Establish and maintain SOPs, work instructions, PFMEA, control plans, and process documentation.
• Support automation and smart manufacturing initiatives where applicable.
• Monitor manufacturing performance including throughput, yield, scrap reduction, cycle time, and OEE.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field)
• 7–10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience leading teams or projects
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., assembly, machining, automation)
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Engineering or MBA
• Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
• Experience in high-volume or highly regulated industries (e.g., medical device, aerospace, semiconductor)
