Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity.
• Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms using Philips telemetry monitors; manage patients on non-titrating drips.
• Care for a diverse cardiac stepdown patient population including chest pain, MI, pre-transplant, esophagectomy, ER overflow, and detox cases (travelers do not take transplant patients).
• Perform and maintain competency in sterile field procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes as assessed through a SIMs Lab evaluation.
• Float as needed to other telemetry units within the facility.
• Participate in weekend rotation (3 of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period) and facility holiday rotation.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Level 1 Trauma experience required.
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted).
• Must demonstrate competency in sterile field technique; SIMs Lab evaluation is pass/fail and includes Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR.
• Must have reliable personal transportation.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in cardiac stepdown or cardiac telemetry nursing.
• Familiarity with Philips monitoring systems and EKG interpretation.
• Experience with CPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy.
