Senior Business Analyst / Scrum Master

OverviewAs a Steampunk Senior Business Analyst / Scrum Master, you’ll serve as both Business Analyst and Scrum Master on an Agile software development team, analyzing mission and business needs, refining requirements, and translating complex information into clear, actionable requirements for project teams.ContributionsLead requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and refinement with clients, stakeholders, and project teamsReview and analyze technical, programmatic, and business documentation to identify requirementsTranslate business and mission needs into clear functional and technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteriaIdentify requirements gaps and dependencies, and drive stakeholder clarificationFacilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) and promote Agile principles and best practicesCoach teams on Agile methodologies and foster an Agile mindset aligned with client goalsPartner with product owners and stakeholders on planning, scope, and delivery schedules focused on incremental valueMonitor progress and distribute status reports for transparency into team performance and delivery outcomesIdentify, track, and mitigate risks and issues; remove and escalate impediments to keep the team focused and productiveManage stakeholder communications and align customer expectations with project deliverablesFacilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to build shared understanding and develop product roadmapsMentor team members, foster accountability, and drive continuous improvement and effective project governanceQualificationsRequired: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearanceBachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience4+ years of experience with Scrum/Kanban methodologies4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Scrum Master supporting technical projects and solutionsExperience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing business and technical requirements, including reviewing technical, programmatic, and business documentationExperience translating complex business and mission needs into clear requirements, user stories/epics, and acceptance criteriaExperience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify dependencies, and support solution deliveryAbility to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influenceFlexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives and willingness to support a wide variety of work productsStrong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiencesStrong organizational and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approachPreferred: Scrum Master certificationExperience supporting or delivering AI/ML projectsExperience working in a studio / human-centered design approachAbout steampunkSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $160,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
