About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President for Commercial Legal Affairs and Transactions. This executive will be instrumental in defining and implementing the legal, transactional, and governance framework for the organization. The role involves leading the legal contracting function, providing expert counsel on a wide range of transactions, and ensuring that the company adheres to best-in-class governance practices. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to senior leadership, guiding negotiations, and managing the legal aspects of various business ventures. A key responsibility is to modernize the legal function, oversee a team of legal professionals, and maintain strong relationships with external counsel. Candidates for the VP position must be seasoned legal executives with at least ten years' of experience, particularly in healthcare transactions. The role requires a sophisticated communicator who can simplify complex legal concepts, build trust across the enterprise, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence. The VP will be expected to be a strong mentor and leader, ensuring that legal operations are efficient and aligned with the company's priorities. A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and membership in the New Mexico State Bar, or the ability to join within the first year, are essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in legal risk management, and be adept at modernizing legal functions to meet the evolving needs of the business.
