Construction Project Engineer – Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Fredericksburg, VA • Full-time • $75,000 - $100,000 DOE (Last updated 6/5/25) Job Description Currently looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Project Engineer with 3-5 years or more hands‑on experience. Candidates should not have more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years. Responsibilities Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets. Run assigned projects to meet or surpass budget and on‑time completion. Collect and code project cost documents and continually monitor and update the budget to reflect changes in work. Monitor project schedules and review work schedules for improving work methods. Oversee the timely submittal and completion of documentation required by owners and agencies. Prepare subcontractor and supplier agreements for execution and prepare correspondence to document changes in work or costs. Work with foremen and superintendents to monitor all activities to ensure a safe and efficient working environment for crews, subcontractors and the public. Promote good public relations with owners, subcontractors, and the public. Requirements Four‑year degree in Construction Management or an Engineering field. Proven project engineering skills in water/wastewater self‑performed construction. Experience working with project teams and preconstruction, including structural concrete, mechanical process piping, and excavation. Team player with strong work ethic and a can‑do attitude. Experience on medium to very large projects in the $50 M ‑ $200 M range. Working knowledge of Design‑Build and alternative delivery methods is a strong plus.
