Concessions Supervisor

The Concessions Supervisor oversees daily food and beverage operations at RailRiders games and events, ensuring efficient service, quality standards, and an excellent fan experience. This role supervises and trains concessions staff, manages inventory and cash handling, ensures compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, and coordinates with management to meet sales and operational goals. The Concessions Supervisor also handles customer concerns, supports event setup and breakdown, and helps maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming concessions environment throughout the ballpark.

Essential duties and responsibilities include supervising and supporting concessions staff during games and special events to ensure smooth, efficient operations; training, coaching, and motivating team members on customer service, food preparation, and safety procedures; ensuring all concession stands comply with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations; monitoring product quality, portion control, and presentation standards; managing inventory and tracking food, beverage, and supply levels; overseeing cash handling procedures, POS operations, and end-of-shift reconciliation; addressing and resolving guest questions or concerns promptly to enhance the fan experience; coordinating setup and breakdown of concession areas before and after events; enforcing company policies, stadium rules, and safety protocols; communicating effectively with management regarding staff needs, sales performance, and operational issues; assisting with scheduling and adjusting staffing levels based on attendance and event demands; and supporting overall ballpark operations as needed to ensure a positive and memorable guest experience.

Qualifications include being at least 18 years of age, previous experience in food service, concessions, hospitality, or retail operations preferred, prior lead, supervisory, or key-holder experience strongly preferred, experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (stadium, arena, restaurant) preferred, experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, and inventory management, demonstrated ability to train, motivate, and supervise staff effectively, strong customer service background with the ability to lead and train a team, familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations preferred.

Skills and abilities include strong leadership and team supervision skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, excellent customer service and guest-relations abilities with a fan-first mindset, effective communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to train, motivate, and coach a diverse staff, knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe handling procedures, ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure during peak service times, flexibility to adapt to changing any operational needs, and ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, sun exposure, and other outdoor conditions.

Working conditions include on-site location and physical demands such as ability to stand or walk for extended periods throughout games and events, frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and twisting while working in concession areas, ability to lift and carry food, beverage, and supply items, typically 25-50 pounds, ability to move quickly and safely to address guest needs or support staff during peak service periods, stamina to work long shifts, including evenings, weekends, and consecutive event days, and ability to work in hot, fast-paced, and sometimes cramped concession areas, including near grills, fryers, and steam tables.
