Job Overview Alterations Specialist – The role involves producing high‑quality altered merchandise within established time‑frame standards, providing excellent service, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, associates, and management at a CHANEL boutique. Responsibilities Produce altered garments within time‑frame standards. Provide excellent customer service and maintain client relationships. Work collaboratively with associates and management. Apply detailed knowledge of luxury fabrics (chains, tweeds, silks) to ensure high‑quality alterations. Organize and maintain client‑owned pieces in compliance with CHANEL expectations. Interact with clients to suggest styling and fitting advice. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of CHANEL alteration techniques, including fabrication and styling of luxury garments. Ensure sewing machines and related equipment are in proper working order. Build positive team relationships across the boutique. Alter or repair garments—hemming, mending, lengthening, taking in/out seams. Fit garments on clients to determine alteration approach. Construct garments and articles according to client specifications. Label client garments and record required alterations. Communicate with clients regarding specifications, needs, and preferences. Use irons and pressing machines to finish garments. Qualifications Minimum 5years of experience in luxury retail alterations. Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques. Ability to work under time constraints and deliver quality results. Excellent communication and client‑service skills. Detail‑oriented and organized. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift 15lb. Flexible schedule – willing to work late nights, weekends, and some holidays. In‑store presence to accommodate opening/closing, inventory, and shipment duties. Team‑focused mindset and passion for client experience. Strong interest in CHANEL, its history, and product offerings (preferred). Foreign‑language skills are preferred but not required. Curiosity and drive to learn and grow professionally within CHANEL. Compensation and Benefits Base salary: $57,000–$72,400 per year. Variable pay (bonus potential) and benefits may apply.
