Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to assess clients' mental and emotional health, documenting each case meticulously from initial consultation through to treatment completion.

  • Evaluate individual needs through evidence-based assessments to create and implement effective intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • \n
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing diverse therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique dynamics of each group or individual client.

  • Continuously monitor clients' progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on evolving needs and outcomes.
  • \n
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, medical professionals, and other mental health specialists to coordinate comprehensive care, ensuring all aspects of a client's well-being are addressed.

  • Assist in managing referrals, ensuring clients have access to necessary resources and additional services as required.
  • \n
  • Engage actively in crisis intervention and prevention strategies, identifying and addressing behaviors that may impede healing and recovery.

  • Support family members and caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges within their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will work with a diverse range of clients experiencing various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and substance use challenges. Our focus is on fostering a compassionate and non-judgmental atmosphere where clients can feel secure in expressing their thoughts and emotions, leading to effective therapeutic outcomes.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Arizona.
  • \n
  • A passing score on the National Counseling Exam (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • \n
  • Proficient in electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, and able to leverage technology to enhance client care.
  • \n
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, equipped to document sessions and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Previous experience working as a mental health counselor within a clinical setting, ideally in an outpatient capacity.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various mental health conditions, including addiction disorders, and their treatment methodologies.

  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • \n
  • Understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects, collaborating effectively with prescribing practitioners to optimize client care.

Compensation and Benefits\n
