Residence Hall Director

Position Title: Residence Hall Director Position Type: Fixed Term (Fixed Term) About the Role: Reporting to the Assistant Director of Residence Life, theResidence Hall Director is a 12-month live-in position responsiblefor coordinating all aspects of student development in theresidential facilities at Northern Kentucky University. TheResidence Hall Director supervises 8-18 Resident Assistants. TheResidence Hall Director is responsible for staffing, training,supervising, and evaluating paraprofessional and graduatestaff. The Residence Hall Director is responsible for thedevelopment and implementation of learning strategies andprogramming for residential students. This position is intended asan entry-level position for new professionals joining the Housingand Residence Life profession. This is a contract; an annual 12-month live-on positiontypically funded for up to four years. Appointments will be made onan annual basis based on continued satisfactory performance. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs : Must have excellent planning, organizational, pre sentation,programming, supervision, customer service and human relationsskills . Must be able to effectively communicate in both oral andwritten context . Must be creative in managing challenges andchange, able to perform under pressure, have excellent crisismanagement skills, and able to work with diverse constituents.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or higher required. Preferred experience includes live-on higher education housingexperience, experience mitigating crises and conflicts, experiencesupervising paraprofessional staff, experience with highereducation student conduct, leadership skills, training indiversity/inclusion/interculturalism, and experience managingbudgets .
