Job Summary: Responsible for overall profitability, sales culture, sales promotions, people development, store standards/operations and customer experience excellence for the assigned La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery. Represent the Company in the store unit and is held to the highest standards of ethics, integrity and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: Profitability: Achieve sales targets and meet budget requirements. Review and act upon financial opportunities including expense management, margin enhancements and sales drivers. Educate staff on financial realities of running a successful business. Provide feedback and innovative ideas to the Market Sales Manager (MSM) on building a more profitable operation. Sales Culture and Promotions: Hire, train and retain high quality team members who exhibit energy and enthusiasm. Coach staff on the company's selling model to drive real action. Ensure associates maximize In-Home Design program, marketing initiatives, store promotions, and grassroots programs. Present opportunities for grassroots marketing and community events that build sales and support communities. Use company metrics to coach proper behaviors. Create an environment where the team delivers excellent customer service aligned with company processes. People Development: Hire and develop talent; succession planning; keep detailed succession plan to avoid vacancies. Utilize company resources to keep associates updated on product knowledge, selling skills and operational efficiencies. Embrace diversity and staff accordingly. Work with Regional HR Managers to stay current with HR training and legal requirements. Store Standards & Operations: Follow company programs to keep store clean and well merchandised. Train teams on cycle counts, accounting procedures, RMS procedures and store line ups. Assist merchandising team to execute line up changes and sell-through strategies. Execute all tagging and sign programs to standard. Ensure accurate paperwork and submit required documentation to HR. Customer Experience Excellence: Set highest standard for customer care. Personally greet guests. Ensure pursuit of new customers. Innovate ways to delight guests. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related study preferred; or equivalent experience. 5 to 8 years of experience managing a business unit; retail background preferred. Experience managing in a retail environment with strong focus on sales. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong understanding of profit and loss. Strong business acumen. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Proven analytical ability and strategic planning using information technologies. Goal oriented; energetically focuses efforts on meeting goals. Proven track record of managing team, improving performance and productivity. Track record of customer service excellence. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays. Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for directly leading store leadership team and indirectly the selling and design team.
