Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Specialty Step Down position requiring stepdown/high acuity experience and tracheostomy care skills.

Details

• Work in the Med Specialty Step Down unit of a hospital setting
• Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex, requiring high acuity stepdown care
• Uses Epic EMR
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Stepdown (high acuity) experience required
• Tracheostomy care experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients including monitoring, documentation, and medication administration
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Compliance documentation, including background checks and drug screens, must begin immediately upon offer due to strict facility deadlines
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer
• Returning workers may only extend a contract one time for a total of 26 weeks, and must have a 6-month separation before applying again
