divh2Movement Disorders Neurologist (MD/DO)/h2pThe Movement Disorders Neurologist provides specialized neurologic care for patients with disorders affecting movement and motor control. This role focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and longitudinal management of complex movement disorders using evidence-based medical, procedural, and multidisciplinary approaches to optimize patient function and quality of life./ppEssential Duties and Responsibilities:/pulliEvaluate and manage patients with movement disorders including Parkinsons disease, atypical parkinsonism, essential tremor, dystonia, Huntington disease, chorea, tics, and gait disorders/liliPerform comprehensive neurologic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans/liliManage pharmacologic therapies for movement disorders and monitor treatment response/liliPerform office-based procedures consistent with training and privileges, such as botulinum toxin injections for dystonia, spasticity, and tremor/liliProvide outpatient movement disorders clinic care and inpatient neurology consultation services as needed/liliInterpret diagnostic studies including neuroimaging and laboratory testing relevant to movement disorders/liliCollaborate with neurosurgery, neuropsychology, rehabilitation medicine, physical therapy, speech therapy, and behavioral health teams/liliParticipate in multidisciplinary case conferences and care planning meetings/liliEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and disease progression/liliMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation/liliParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives/liliSupervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or trainees as applicable/liliComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards/li/ulpQualifications:/pulliDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school/liliCompletion of an accredited Neurology residency program/liliCompletion of an accredited Movement Disorders fellowship/liliBoard-eligible or board-certified in Neurology/liliAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure/liliDEA registration or eligibility/li/ulpSkills and Competencies:/pulliExpertise in the diagnosis and management of movement disorders/liliStrong clinical judgment and longitudinal disease management skills/liliProficiency with procedural therapies for movement disorders/liliExcellent communication and patient counseling abilities/liliAbility to manage chronic, progressive neurologic conditions/liliCommitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care/li/ulpWork Environment:/pulliOutpatient movement disorders clinics and neurology practices with possible inpatient consultation responsibilities/liliSchedule typically includes weekday clinic hours with limited call depending on practice model/li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliAbility to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environments/liliManual dexterity for neurologic examinations and office-based procedures/liliVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and diagnostic interpretation/li/ul/div
