Diesel Mechanic Manager

Job Description

Diesel Mechanic Manager $2300 w/ OT>+ WEEKLY
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Diesel Mechanic Manager to lead our in-house maintenance shop. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing equipment repairs, shop personnel, parts inventory, and preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and support operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily shop operations, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Supervise, train, and support shop mechanics and other maintenance personnel
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Prioritize repairs to minimize downtime and meet operational needs
  • Manage parts ordering, inventory, vendor relationships, and maintenance costs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and service logs
  • Coordinate equipment availability with operations teams
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards while maintaining a safe, organized shop environment

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
  • Experience leading a maintenance shop or team
  • Experience managing parts inventory, vendors, budgets, and repair costs
  • Valid driver's license required
Skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
  • Experience using computerized maintenance systems to manage work orders, inventory, parts requisitions, and repair costs
  • Ability to source and identify correct parts using manuals and digital systems
  • Ability to prioritize work, make sound decisions under pressure, and maintain a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control
