Registered Nurse, PreOp/PACU (Centralia - Full-time)

Registered Nurse, Pre-Operative and Post Anesthesia Care Unit

Location: Centralia Surgery Center

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: The surgery center is primarily open Monday-Friday, but occasional Saturdays may be worked. The Pre-Op/PACU team rotates on-call, and some over-night shifts may be required depending on patient needs and recovery time.

Pay: $42.40 - $71.52 per hour

(Pay is determined based on years of experience)

Registered Nurse Job Duties:

Pre-Operative –

• Administering care to patients prior to surgery.
• Administer pre-surgery medication under the guidance of the physician and or physician assistant.
• Evaluate and access admission documents, identify emergency procedures, and adhere to necessary pre-operation policies and procedures.

PACU-

• Monitors (heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and respiratory rate)
• Treating symptoms of postoperative nausea and vomiting
• Managing post-operative pain
• Treating post-anesthetic shivering
• Monitoring surgical site(s) for excessive bleeding, discharge, swelling, hematoma, redness, etc.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements:

• IV Therapy experience (starting, discontinuing IVs, and administering medication).
• Graduate of an accredited State Board of Nursing program. Current Registered Nurse in the State of Washington required.
• Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.
