CLINICAL ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION Perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to help provide care to patients, support physicians and keep office operations running smoothly. CLASSIFICATION Non-Exempt REPORTS TO Practice Manager ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Collect basic patient intake and vitals Perform necessary point of care testing Document all patient visits and communication in EMR properly Maintain exam room cleanliness prior to each patient appointment Stock medical supplies in each exam room per physician preference Preform necessary cleaning duties maintaining an orderly work environment Regular & prompt attendance on agreed upon daily and weekly start and end time. Ethical conduct, confidentiality, and collaboration with the healthcare team are expected and considered essential elements of this position Can maintain physical demands and work environment as listed below

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required High school diploma or equivalent Preferred CPR Certification Knowledge of EMR software PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS This job will require exposure to patient elements. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. May work in a noisy or distracting environment. This job will require exposure to patient elements. EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK The core hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. but can vary depending on location. This position may require some evening or weekend work depending on location. COVID/ FLU CONSIDERATIONS If requested by any patient, then staff is required to wear a surgical mask. Patients are strongly encouraged to wear a mask if they are experiencing any acute respiratory symptoms or have a fever. Employees who are not flu-vaccinated will be required to wear a mask in all patient facing areas from September 1 to March 1st unless dates are modified due to clinical factors (unusual epidemic patterns, etc).
