The Machinist will work under the guidance of experienced machinists, utilizing various tools and equipment to produce high-quality components. Responsibilities: CNC Machinist:
- Operate hand tools and power tools to perform machining tasks.
- Assist in the setup and operation of CNC machines, including lathe operations.
- Utilize coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality control and inspection of parts.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in assembly processes as needed, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
- Learn and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards in machining tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.• Assist in setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and other machine tools
- Learn to read technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files
- Perform part inspections using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Support machine maintenance and shop organization
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards
- Participate in structured on-the-job training
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools is preferred.
- Basic understanding of machining processes and techniques.
- Exposure to CAM programming is a plus but not required.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various machining tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong interest in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical work
- Good math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50-pounds and stand for extended periods
- Vocational or technical training is a plus but not required
