Mental Health Counselor / Family Support Specialist (IICAPS)

Competitive Compensation Package: Annual salary: $46,200 - $48,300; $5,000 sign-on bonus; Opportunity to earn monthly incentive.

Help Children and Families Thrive

Are you passionate about supporting children and families through challenging times? Join our IICAPS (Intensive In-Home Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services) team and help children (ages 5 - 18) at risk of psychiatric hospitalization remain safely at home and connected to their communities.

Recently earned your BA or BSW and looking to build clinical experience? This role offers hands-on work with children and families, ongoing supervision, and the opportunity to develop skills that can prepare you for advanced behavioral health and social service careers.

Working as part of a two-person team with a Clinician, you will provide intensive home and community-based support to children and families while partnering with schools, DCF, healthcare providers, and community agencies.

What You'll Do:

  • Build strong relationships with children and families
  • Co-facilitate individual, parent and family therapy sessions
  • Provide case management, advocacy, and care coordination
  • Connect families to community resources and supports
  • Collaborate with schools, DCF, hospitals, and service providers
  • Support discharge planning and successful transitions to ongoing care
  • Complete timely documentation and participate in supervision and team meetings

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work (BSW), or related field

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of human services experience
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
