Adjunct Faculty, Biology Position Number: 999927 School/Division: Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – Natural Science Department: Biology Full/Part Time: Part‑Time Job Description Hofstra University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach introductory biology lab courses and potentially upper‑level lecture courses in ecology and evolution, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, physiology, and neurobiology. The faculty member is expected to be available for at least one to two hours of office hours per week and attend weekly lab instructors’ meetings. Teaching load is typically one or two courses per semester; maximum enrollment for a lab section is approximately 20 students. Qualifications Master’s degree in biology or closely related discipline. Preferred Qualities Prior university teaching experience. Both a PhD and teaching experience is required for appointment at the Adjunct Assistant Professor or greater level.
