Perioperative RN Opportunity

Stillwater Surgery Center, Stillwater Medical's ambulatory surgery center, is looking for a perioperative RN to join our team and care for our patients.

• Part-time, days
• Monday - Friday, hours vary

Job Summary: Provides direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.

Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice in the state of Oklahoma.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• IV sedation certification
• Current CPR card or completion within 30 days of employment.
• Current ACLS certification or completion within 1 year of employment required.
• Current PALS certification or completion within 1 year of employment required.
• Basic computer knowledge

Physical Requirements:

• Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
• Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials.
• Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and dealing with stressful situations.
• Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses, to read and write.
• Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone.
• Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care
• Able to frequently lift at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
• Possesses fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: insert catheters, start IVs, administer medications, and handle instruments).
