Job Posting End Date 07-06-2026 (posting closes the day before the end date) Job Summary Transmission Right of Way (TROW) Agent Associate assists in acquiring land rights for construction, operation, and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution facilities. Responsibilities include negotiations with landowners, settlement of damage claims, legal document preparation, project oversight, and coordination with vendors. Responsibilities Handle complex negotiations with landowners and their designees for land rights related to transmission and distribution projects. Settle damage claims with property owners regarding property damage caused by AEP or its contractors. Search courthouses and other records to determine present property ownership and extent of interests. Review and interpret legal documents, property surveys, legal descriptions, surveying drawings, appraisals, and reports. Prepare approved legal documents for acquisition of land rights. Provide functional support to other AEP business units regarding acquisition procedures. Maintain property owner files, maps, drawings, exhibits and detailed progress reports within ROWS-i. Follow TROW estimate guidelines and practices for acquiring land rights and complete ROW estimates & scope. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and coordinate multiple right‑of‑way projects or programs. Follow TROW Outsourcing Technical Guidelines and act as liaison or project manager with vendor companies. Oversee vendor activities to ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and reporting. Review periodic status and cost of managed right‑of‑way projects and track quality, milestones and performance. Monitor closeout process, establish lessons learned, and recommend process improvements. Approve vouchers for payments incurred in land‑right acquisition. Assist in selection of witnesses and commissioners for condemnation or other court actions. Represent TROW in internal process‑improvement teams and external industry forums. Support employees and contractors in meeting AEP System Safety Process standards. Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree in real estate, business, engineering, project management or related field is required; bachelor’s degree preferred with no experience needed. Experience: Minimum 1 year related experience (minimum 2 years for SG6, 3 for SG7, 5–7 for SG8). Experience in business, project management, real estate, law, electric transmission/distribution right‑of‑way, surveying, title research. Licenses: Valid driver’s license and Notary Commission. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, conflict management, organizational problem solving, ability to convey vision and strategy, strong written and presentation skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and right‑of‑way land‑management databases (e.g., geoAMPS). Travel: Must be able to travel within the AEP Transmission service territory; occasional travel outside territory possible. Work Hours: Ability to work outside normal business hours to meet project schedules.
