Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Position Summary This Pediatric Occupational Therapist position is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating injuries, diseases, and disabilities using occupational therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard occupational therapy practices. The role also involves consulting, educating, and training patients, families, and caregivers, and collaborating with care teams and stakeholders to deliver quality, patient‑centered care. Responsibilities Provides skilled occupational therapy services in an outpatient setting, staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups. Conducts evaluations and treatments according to professional standards (AOTA), considering diagnosis, history, and physician referrals; develops care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments. Keeps thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies; completes patient billing accurately and promptly. Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals, ensuring smooth operations and optimal use of rehabilitation services. Manages all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students to ensure high‑quality care. Qualifications Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of employment. \l Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. Basic computer skills; frequent computer use and typing for documentation, medication preparation, and information access. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with the target population of children in an outpatient setting. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record. Ability to see, read information, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. Strong manual dexterity and the ability to lift, move, and transport patients and equipment, including handling items up to heavy weights. Physical stamina to walk, ambulate patients, and navigate busy rooms; may be required to stand for extended periods. Posting Details Shift: Full‑time; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; 40 hours per week (no weekends). Location: St. Mary's Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, CO (Outpatient). Compensation: $42.66 – $65.82 hourly, depending on experience.
