Southern Hospitality Company, an entity of Southern Land Company, is headquartered in Nashville, TN and is seeking a line cook to open our new Italian restaurant, Lupo Notte. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, in a fast-paced work environment.

The Line Cook will assist in preparing and cooking the food for Lupo Notte. They will also perform other related tasks to food preparation and kitchen sanitation/cleanliness as directed by the Chef. This position requires adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.

Essential duties include maintaining food quality, consistency, and portion control, assuming responsibility for quality of product they are serving, assisting Chef/Sous Chef with set-up and preparation of food items, carefully following standard recipes while preparing all assigned items, cooking proteins at desired temperature and produce at the correct texture/taste, assisting the Chef/Sous Chef with conducting a monthly food/supplies inventory, understanding how to properly use and maintain the equipment, performing necessary clean-up and sanitation maintenance activities for all food preparation and storage facilities as directed by the Chef/Sous Chef, carrying clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas, assisting with product receiving and/or storage of products, full compliance with the Department of Health regulations, and performing other duties assigned by Chef/Sous Chef.

Qualifications, knowledge, and skill requirements include 3 years of cooking experience, experience in managing and upholding a safe working condition, understanding the knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures, dependability, ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, ability to work in a team environment, ability to understand English to a level to properly understand assigned tasks, and ability to take direction. Education/Experience includes a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Physical demands include frequently lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, working in non-weather high temperatures, and maintaining a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance.
