Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Prior experience in a school-based setting is a plus
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and execute specialized instructional programs and accommodations
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
- Facilitate communication access via sign language, technology, or other resources
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
- Offer guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting deaf/hard of hearing students
