Job Overview We are hiring part‑time lifeguards in Laguna Niguel. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour. Employees are eligible for a raise after every 60 shifts. Work is hourly and seasonal; a work permit is required for applicants under 18. Summary The lifeguard’s primary responsibility is to maintain visitor safety while supporting a fun environment. Tasks include enforcing pool etiquette, managing opening and closing procedures, and ensuring emergency readiness. Essential Duties Supervise swimming activities and enforce safety policies. Alert swimmers to dangers and enforce regulations. Respond to emergencies and administer first aid. Work independently and maintain focus for extended periods. Assess conditions for safety and activate emergency plan as needed. Complete daily opening and closing checklists. Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water quality. Assist with pool chemical testing and record results. Communicate effectively with patrons, coworkers, and management. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum age of 15.5 years; must obtain a work permit if under 18. Available to work at least one day per week, including weekends and holidays. Reliable and committed to scheduled shifts. Enthusiastic, outgoing, and willing to interact with the public. Reliable transportation. Must obtain and maintain StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification. Swimming proficiency; able to submerge in water depths exceeding 12 feet. Preferred Prior lifeguard experience. StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification.
