We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Assembler Developer with strong experience in the Credit Card Authorization domain to join our client's core processing team in Omaha, NC . The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in Assembler , COBOL , JCL , and CICS , with a focus on transaction-heavy, high-performance systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain mission-critical applications using Assembler (HLASM) on IBM mainframes.
- Enhance and support Credit Card Authorization systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system design, analysis, and performance tuning.
- Write and optimize complex COBOL programs and JCL scripts for batch processing.
- Design and maintain CICS transactions and online programs for card authorization services.
- Troubleshoot issues and resolve production incidents with minimal downtime.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements related to card transactions.
- 7+ years of experience in Mainframe development
- Strong hands-on experience in Assembler (HLASM) programming
- Proficiency in COBOL , JCL , and CICS
- Solid understanding of Credit Card Authorization , transaction routing, and host systems
- Experience working in high-volume, real-time payment environments
- Familiarity with debugging tools like Expeditor , File-Aid , etc.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a production environment
- Experience with IBM MQ , DB2 , or VSAM
- Exposure to PCI compliance and card network integrations (Visa, MasterCard, etc.)
- Prior experience in financial services or payment processing platforms
