Job Duties Maintain basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and regulatory issues, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; Fair Lending; Regulation E; deposit, transaction and loan accounts. Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer‑servicing activities. Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships. Serve as customers’ single point of contact on all First United Bank products and services. Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals; actively participate in all sales campaigns; promote new products and services; educate customers and peers within the bank. Participate in all meetings, bank functions, and customer appreciation/community events as requested or assigned by supervisor. Consistently meet customer‑service expectations by offering excellent service, greeting customers, smiling, using their name and building rapport to generate loyalty. Identify and match customer product needs by interviewing customers, discussing their financial needs, and making referrals to other staff members and departments to ensure needs are met. Open new accounts, certificates of deposit and all other ancillary products; answer customer questions, provide account‑opening information, and ensure proper paperwork is completed and entered in the system. Assist customers with routine questions and requests: balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, and privacy. Process a variety of transactions quickly and accurately according to established First United Bank policies and procedures; including but not limited to accepting checks for cash and deposit; money orders, savings bonds, traveler’s checks, cashier’s checks, and payments for loans and other services. Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications and vault duties. Verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate, and close the cash drawer after each shift to ensure compliance with bank policies. Seek assistance as needed to resolve discrepancies. Proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues. Review and resolve account issues listed on insufficient and exception reports daily; assist customers with account charge‑off repayment plans. Perform security functions by opening and closing the bank and vault, and ensuring overall safety and security of bank grounds. Master the primary purpose and essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position. Requirements High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college strongly preferred. One year of retail experience preferred. Cash handling experience preferred. Superior customer service skills required. Basic mathematics to solve problems. Extremely accurate daily work. Effective reading, writing, and verbal communication with customers and coworkers. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently, with little supervision. Ability to use good judgment and exercise decision‑making skills. Critical thinking skills to identify solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to multi‑task. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance. Behave ethically both at work and outside the workplace. Active listening: actively look for ways to assist customers, give full attention, ask questions as appropriate.
