It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.**Description of Work**Cleaning and minor maintenance of approximately 12,000 square feet of residential living and office areas. Employees will perform a variety of duties in cleaning and linen distribution.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences****Recruitment Range: $31,200 to $48,810*** Knowledge of housekeeping, sanitation, infection prevention, and applicable healthcare regulations and standards.* Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with established safety procedures.* Ability to maintain accuracy, attention to detail, and quality standards while performing cleaning and sanitation duties.* Ability to work effectively in a behavioral healthcare environment while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and adaptability to changing priorities and procedures.* Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including prolonged standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and operating housekeeping equipment.**This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.****SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION**DHHS uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions with the most qualified individuals.
