Job Title: Common Grounds Barista

Job Summary: You would work with a team of baristas to take orders, make drinks, upkeep the coffee shops cleanliness and supplies, and provide welcoming customer service

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Take orders using our POS system
• Make drinks ranging from coffees, teas, milkshakes, and specialty menu items
• Maintain a clean and inviting coffee shop
• Properly communicate restocking needs with Common Grounds managers
• Work 2-3 two-hour shifts each week and occasional four-hour weekend shifts.
• Provide warm and welcoming customer interaction
• Work on a team of baristas while creating an uplifting and supportive atmosphere.
• Supports the values of Eastern Mennonite University.
• Report to work on time and exhibit proactive communication with managers and fellow baristas.
• Responsibly lock and unlock the Coffee Shop
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Understand of basic department procedures.
• Ability to maintain a level of professionalism during working hours.

• Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at EMU.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, climb, and balance. The employee is required to use hands and fingers, to handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
