Postdoctoral Fellow - Immunology
$64k - $76kMD Anderson
A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Zhibin Zhang's laboratory in the Department of Immunology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The Department of Immunology, chaired by Nobel Laureate Dr. James P. Allison, is internationally recognized for its excellence in basic and translational immunology, with a particular emphasis on cancer immunology. Our laboratory is dedicated to elucidating the molecular mechanisms of pyroptosis in tumor cells and developing novel pyroptosis-based therapeutic strategies to enhance antitumor immunity and improve cancer treatment. This position will focus on investigating the role of pyroptosis in tumor immunology. The successful candidate will use a combination of biochemical, molecular, cellular, mouse genetic, and systems biology approaches to investigate the activation and regulation of gasdermin proteins, the executioners of pyroptosis, in the context of tumor-immune interactions. All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The postdoctoral fellow will learn to investigate how cell death signaling pathways regulate the functions of tumor-infiltrating immune cells, leading to tumor suppression and enhanced antitumor immune responses. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a recent Ph.D. degree or equivalent in related biomedical field with strong self-motivation. Preference will be given to applicants with extensive experience in mouse tumor models and tumor immunology and/or biochemistry and protein purification. Applicants with backgrounds in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, tumor biology, or related disciplines are all encouraged to apply. ADDITIONAL APPLICATION INFORMATION
For more information about our research, please refer to our recent publications (Nature 2020, PMC7123794; Nature Reviews Drug Discovery 2021, PMC7944254; Science Immunology 2023, PMC10338320; Annual Review of Immunology 2026, PMC13215008). POSITION INFORMATION
