Our law group is growing, and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations, such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues, such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. $80,000 - $120,000 yearly + benefits

• Keep client files properly organized and up to date
• Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process
• Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
• Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases

What You’ll Do:

• Represent clients in family law hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Draft motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and final orders.
• Guide clients through complex legal and emotional situations.
• Collaborate with paralegals and senior attorneys on case strategy.
• Oversee case files, track progress, and manage deadlines.
• Communicate regularly with clients and opposing counsel.
• Occasional travel required across Ohio.

• Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
• Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants
• Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
• Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred
• Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association)

What You Need:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio.
• Prior experience with Family Law is preferred.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent courtroom presence and legal writing skills.
• Strong communication and client relationship abilities.
• Confidence under pressure and compassion for people in crisis.
• Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
