The Process Engineer performs advanced engineering tasks under limited supervision. Help to mentor the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through completion.

Responsibilities

• Participate in industry groups. • Perform advanced engineering tasks under limited supervision. • Oversees all aspects of a significant engineering project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. • Develops an action plan and estimates requirements for resources—management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project. • Prepares monthly reports, detailing progress and costs for top management. • User of CAE tools such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD, FEA. • Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures, and provides advice on issues within the engineering field. • Analyzes and identifies causes of component failures. • Capable of providing technical solutions to help solve manufacturing issues or address customer field issues; has some familiarity with multiple operations. • Use team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development. • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team. • Finish assigned engineering projects in accordance with customer specifications and within schedule and budget limitations, coordinating activities of engineering team, contractors, and vendors. • Lead brainstorming activities for specific needs. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field • 3+ years of manufacturing experience. Experience with lean manufacturing and conducting capability studies preferred. • 6 sigma or FMEA experience a plus • Excellent analytical and organizational skills; solves complex problems. • Experience leading Kaizen related or Continuous Improvement Activity • Ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis • Strong communications via written and oral • Knowledge of SAP and MRP systems is beneficial • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, Power Point and AutoCAD. Solidworks preferred. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Uses team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development. • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
